Frequently Asked Questions

Ring Sizing & Resizing

How do I find my ring size?

We recommend visiting a local jeweller to have your finger measured professionally, as this gives the most accurate result. You can also email us your measurements and we can do our best to work out your size. Keep in mind that fingers can swell slightly in warm weather or at the end of the day, so try to measure at a neutral time.

What if my ring doesn't fit?

We offer a Ring Resize service for pieces that need adjusting. Resizing is carried out by hand and may take 1–2 weeks. Please note that some designs (such as full eternity rings or rings with stones set all the way around) cannot be resized, so do contact us before ordering if you're unsure of your size. You can find our Ring Resize service here.

Do you offer half sizes?

Yes — we can make most rings in half sizes. Just let us know your preferred size when placing your order or in the order notes at checkout.

Bespoke Commissions & Lead Times

How long does a bespoke piece take?

Made-to-order and bespoke pieces are handcrafted individually, so lead times vary depending on the complexity of the design and current demand. As a general guide:

  • Standard made-to-order pieces: 3–5 weeks
  • Fully bespoke commissions: 6–10 weeks

We'll always confirm your estimated lead time at the start of the commission process. If you need a piece by a specific date (for a birthday, anniversary, or wedding), please get in touch as early as possible.

How does the bespoke process work?

We start with a consultation by email — to discuss your ideas, budget, and timeline. From there we'll create sketches & 3D models for your approval before any metal is touched. A 50% deposit is required to begin work, with the balance due before dispatch. Visit our Bespoke Commissions page to get started.

Materials & Gemstone Care

What materials do you use?

We work primarily with recycled gold and silver, reducing the demand for newly mined metal. Our recycled metals meet the same quality standards as newly refined metal and are hallmarked accordingly. We also source ethically mined and lab-grown gemstones where possible — feel free to ask about the provenance of a specific stone.

How do I care for my jewellery?

To keep your pieces looking their best:

  • Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, or applying perfume, lotions, or cleaning products.
  • Store pieces individually in a soft pouch or jewellery box to prevent scratching.
  • Polish silver with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove tarnish — avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Gold can be gently cleaned with warm water and a small amount of mild dish soap, then patted dry.

How do I clean gemstone jewellery?

Most gemstones can be cleaned with warm (not hot) water, a drop of mild soap, and a soft brush. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners for softer stones such as opals, pearls, or emeralds, as vibration can cause damage. If you're unsure, please contact us and we'll advise on the best method for your specific stone.

Shipping

How long will my order take to arrive?

Once your piece is ready, we dispatch using a tracked, insured service. Estimated delivery times from dispatch:

  • UK: 1–3 business days (Royal Mail Special Delivery)
  • Europe: 5–10 business days
  • Rest of world (including USA, Australia): 7–14 business days

Please note that international orders may be subject to customs delays outside our control.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide. International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or fees charged by their country upon arrival. We are unable to mark packages as 'gifts' or undervalue items on customs declarations.

Will I receive tracking information?

Yes — once your order is dispatched you'll receive a confirmation email with your tracking number so you can follow your parcel's journey.

Returns & Exchanges

Can I return or exchange a made-to-order piece?

Because each piece is made individually to order, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges on made-to-order or bespoke items unless they arrive faulty or damaged. We therefore encourage you to get in touch before ordering if you have any questions about sizing, materials, or design.

Can I return a ready-to-wear or one-of-a-kind piece?

One-of-a-kind pieces that are purchased as shown (not made to order) may be returned within 14 days of receipt, provided they are unworn and in their original condition and packaging. Please contact us before returning any item. Return postage costs are the buyer's responsibility, and we recommend using a tracked, insured service as we cannot accept liability for items lost in transit.

What if my item arrives damaged?

If your jewellery arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with a description and photographs of the damage. We'll work with you to repair, replace, or refund as appropriate.

For full details, please see our Refund Policy.

Our Jewellery

Each of our jewels is delicately handcrafted by Melissa in her workshop In the North West of England, using the ancient art of lost wax casting and the exciting and updredictable sand casting technique. Each and every piece is handmade to order with its own unique qualities using 100% Recycled Silver and Gold. Taking inspiration from mythology and the natural world Melissa creates tactile and intricate jewellery encrusted in lichen and oceanic growths that appear to have been buried and taken over by nature.
